 - CITY  Meetings are held on Saturdays, every two weeks at City Central Library Hanley, in room 1 (J R R Tolkien suite) unless otherwise advised. Meeting times are 11.40 - 13.40

20th January - AGM

February
3rd - Workshop with Poet Mel Woodend "The Colour of Feelings - poetry as a creative therapy workshop"-

 
17th – Workshop  - June Palmer "Spring's First Glimmer" - poetry about light, warmth and sounds of spring

March
3rd - EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER CITY VOICES MEETING AS USUAL 11.40am

17th - "Here is One I Prepared Earlier" - Anita Oxford. Read-around of work written outside the group. Informal.

31st - "Working in a Murder Scene" - with an ex-police photographer and CSI. Talk and Q and A for readers, writers and
aficionados of crime fiction - and fact!

April – 14th - 11am -12pm Postcards Poets event at City Library
12.30 – 1.30pm Workshop for City Voices members with Jonny Fluffypunk

28th - "Use of Sound in Writing" - Neil Holland. Enhance your writing with music - artistic and practical advice plus demos

May - 12th - Workshop Trilogy Debbi Voisey 1. "
Let’s start a story – Workshop to inspire setting, characters and plots.  Brainstorm for titles etc.  This is with the view to entering into a competition this year"

26th - Workshop "The Importance of First Lines" - Anita Oxford

June - 9th - "A Special Something" - Andrew Ball. Writing Workshop. Bring a treasured object.   

23rd - "Playwriting Workshop" with Deborah McAndrew - Creative Director Claybody Theatre

July - 7th - Workshop Trilogy Debbi Voisey
2. "Let’s work on our story – Time to write for longer and ask for advice and feedback if you need it.  Hash out any plot points or problems.  Read through (optional)

Murder Scenes and other crimes. First hand information and tips on writing for authentic stories. Pitfalls to avoid.” PLUS - Crime writing competition

September – 1st - Workshop Trilogy Debbi Voisey 3."
Let’s finish that story! – Final re-writes and read throughs.  Advice/feedback if wanted.  Followed by a look at some of the competitions available."

October – 13th - 11am - 1.30pm Poetry on Loan present reading/performance with four poets. Followed by Q and A

Please note – meetings will be held in room 1 (J R R Tolkien suite) unless otherwise advised. Meeting times are 11.40 – 13.40. The library closes at 14.00. Special events with the library may be differnt times. Any change of venue or temporary library closure will be communicated to members as soon as the Committee are aware of the changes
