My first ever published booklet of poetry (published by City Voices Publishing) is with the printers right now and I am eagerly awaiting the first proof!
The poems in this book were written mostly prior to 2014, after many years in the writing wilderness. I regard 2014 as a tipping point, when my poetry style changed. The reason for publishing this collection is because the poems mean something to me, naïve in style and technique as some of them are – bloody hell, most of them rhyme! Perhaps naïve is the wrong terminology. There is more than a hint of Gothic here; there is fantasy and strangeness. There is talk of love, whispers of sex and acknowledgement of a spiritual world.
I would like to thank ALL those who have encouraged me to write and improve; the 52 Group, and Alan Barnett of City Voices Creative Writers who helped pushed me into publication. My printers have given me much needed practical advice.
This book is for anyone who has sometimes felt like they are a stranger in their own life
