City Voices member Pat Sinclair entered a poem for "The Great British Write-Off" poetry competition and has been informed that they have accepted her poem for publication! The poem was "The Immortal Soldier" which Pat composed for the library's WW1 exhibition. Pat says “The competition was mentioned at one of the City Voices' meetings and in the June newsletter. It was/is being run by the Forward Poetry group .I was very surprised to learn that my poem had been chosen, amongst others, to be published in their book.It is due to be published on Nov 30th and three of the contributors will be awarded prizes! Needless to say I have ordered a copy of the book. All this thanks to City Voices. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!” So true Pat, and really well done, congratulations.
