Emma Purshouse is a freelance performance poet, writer, stand-up comedienne and workshop facilitator. She lives in the City of Wolverhampton a few miles north of Birmingham. Emma performs her work nationally, is a published author and winner of poetry slams. City Voices are delighted to say that Emma will be the MC at our 10th Anniversary Celebrations on 7th September. Emma will also be performing some of her own work, but in addition from our 21 members (and growing) no less than 16 will be reading and performing their own work, both short stories and poems. There might have been more but some people have had the nerve to go on holiday! Seriously we have been overwhelmed by the response and due to time constraints only one short piece per person could be accomodated. Friends and family, special guests, and some old aquaintances have said they will be along to help us celebrate, and we will also be joined by our patron, actor and playwright Deborah McAndrew (yes, yes the one who was in Corrie!) the founder of the Claybody Theatre. The celebration will start at 7pm sharp at Hanley Library - admission is free but please apply to the library reception.
